So I had my first dress fitting today, and my dress is beautiful :) But, the more I wore it, the more I started to notice these horrible wrinkles forming on my bodice. My seamstress told me there is nothing I can do about it since I have a bigger size chest, that it's just gravity weighing it down. It fits me perfectly, there is nothing she needs to take in or take out (according to her).

Since the dress is strapless, I guess that's where the problem lies. She said if it had straps, I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Have any of you had this problem or seen this happen? Is there something I can do to help it lay flat on me?

Try a strapless body suit - one w/ spandex & perhaps with an underwire bra for extra support. Nordstrom's, Macy's, etc. carry them. (ex. of brands Bali, Maidenform)

Beige or nude is better than white. Select a couple, keep the receipt & see which one works best. Return the rest. Wear it around the house so you get used to it.

If that doesn't help, consider altering the dress and have straps attached. Be sure the seamstress can do it and match the material first. You may have preferred a strapless gown but this way, you won't have to worry about it.

And the earlier tip about double sided tape is a good one for keeping everything in place.

I just ordered my wedding dress yesterday, and it's also strapless. I am a DD chest and now I'm worried too! I have actually had that happen with other strapless dresses/gowns. It's almost like the dress is struggling to contain the boobs without falling down. What I have done to fix this is to buy double sided tape, which is especially made for strapless gowns, and swimsuits that models wear for competitions. I think it's called Hollywood tape..but you can do a quick google and find similar products. Hopefully that will work....but I guess it might depend on how heavily beaded/sequined your bodice is. I don't know how well the tape works with heavy fabrics. Good luck to you...I'm sure it will be beautiful either way!

Edit: here it is:

I had a little of the same problem with my strapless and there was another problem at the side of the dress.. I noticed that i was not being supported in my chest enough as I am a large C cup. So all I did was change the strapless bra. I went from a foam bra to one with the 'bones'; it was an anjolique bra.The change helped tremendously. I did not notice any wrinkles and I had a beautiful wedding day.

I see this problem happen to many others its not just you. You can either have strapes put on, you dont have to have huge strapes just thin ones to help fix the problem, you also could try to get a bra than will push more on your breast and give you more support, as well as a bra that has clear straps would work. But with clear straps it wont be that noticable if your hair is down, but if your wearing your hair up than best to just look for a bra with a lot of support to lift up the more gravity that is weighing down on your dress. A lot of the time you look for anything that is making you look bad, but really its nothing, it probably looks really good and looks like its suspose to be that way. You could also get bead work around that area so it could cover it up. I would ask others for their honest opinon on if its noticable or not, than go from there.

She should be able to add interfacing in the dress to stiffen up the bust. Also get a GOOD bra that holds you without slipping. I would personally get a corset and make her take it in tighter. Strapless dress should be tight against your body and get some fashion body tape and tape it down to your body as well. If you don't like what she is saying- take the dress to someone else for a second fitting to get comments.

your seamstress didn't fit it correctly!! if it fits correctly you would not see those lines after wearing it, regardless if it has straps. take it to a different seamstress, or your local college if it has a fashon department. trust me, she's lying!! i sew, and it should NOT do that, regardless of the bodice design or your chest size.

if you can't get it fixed, a corset underneath it will give it a stabel foundation to rest on , as well as reduce the lines that may incurr from you moving, bedning, dancing, etc. but it should be foxed, by someone who's not making a shoddy excuse!!

I knew that would happen if I got a strapless dress, so I specifically looked for ones with straps. I ended up with a gorgeous one with cap sleeves. It kept the dress up all night, looked great, and there was a little bit of beadwork on the cap sleeves to make it pop. You could always have some put onto your dress to help.

Maybe they will come out once it is pressed at the dry cleaners.
This usually happens because there is another layer of fabric underneath, which is stiffer, and it creases with wear.

Mine did that a little, it wasn't really noticeable though. maybe you could have her add spaghetti straps unless you are completely against that.
