You want to maintain a " I'm tough, I'm woman" front.
You just don't want any boy or that one boy to know you are ga-ga over them.
You are afraid to let your feelings show.

Honestly I do the same thing. I dont know if it is because I have a fear of rejection so I thrive on being the cold beeoottcchhh! I dont notice it until after the fact but if you have any rejection issues or an unstable father figure then that could be the possible culprit. Also we learn this aloofy magnetic rudeness tends to turn a guy on. Look at Scarlett and Rhett in gone with the wind. However dont push him too far away from him because then it is hard to get him back. I have lost several guys due to that and we are all creatures of habit so be careful because in the end he might just say FRANKLY my dear I dont give a Damn!(A reference to the end of gone with the wind. If you have not yet seen it watch it)

Either you don't want people to know who your crush is and you act out in the opposite way.
OR
You are mad that your crush hasn't got "the clue" that you like him and you're secretly mad at him.
OR
You don't want to get your feelings hurt if he ever rejects you, so you're rejecting him first.
All those reasons really have no real basis except for the first. Personally I think you need to mature a lot more before you decide to try to hit it off with the opposite sex. No one can read your mind and you shouldn't let your hormones do the talking.

Well, I notice girls are like that around me and other guys sometimes. Especially teenage girls. I'm 15 and the girl who is now my girlfriend told me that I looked like a loser when we first met, and then we ended up being bf/gf on the first day we met. Just try to be nice(er) and he will probably like you better. You are probably nervous so you use your natural girl instinct which is to get catty lol

I've been in your shoes, and I think that part of the problem is that you are afraid your crush won't like you back. It's tough putting yourself out there on a limb, because in all honesty, not everyone is going to like you back. However, if your crush keeps making attempts to talk to you, chances are he/she likes you in some way.
So, what are you waiting for? Take a chance! Trust me, no one sits on the death bed regretting the chances they took. What we regret as we get older are the chances we were too afraid to take.

everyone is going to say that you are nervous because its true. LOL! its actually kind of funny. This happens a lot but you should worry about it just breathe and always think before you speak lol unless he says something that desirves a Pshhh yea, whatever then let him have it it doesnt hurt to be a little bitchy sometimes in fact, it gives you that little edge.

I do that to my bf sometimes... the reason why I think we're like that, is cuz we want them to care like,'I wonder whats wrong with her today, I should try making her more happy.' I guess we want their attention, and to show them that we need their help and want them to think of us all day and why we're so catty. lol. It happens.

probably you use that so he wont get close to you not intentionally but you know subconsciously
Some girls do that, ive noticed, because their shy and so they wont mess up or do something stupid they get all protective and act mean around the person they like
just try to calm down chillax..... take a deep breath and try to talk to him without getting too excited that it will make you start acting mean to him again
