Question

just popped into my 12 year old brain


Last dance

16 years old,
She was ready to party,
Her boyfriend was there,
But not Daddy or Mommy.

Of course there was drinking,
There always was,
But at this time,
No one knew what it does.

The party was almost over,
It was almost the last dance,
She found the man she love,
And asked for this one chance.

They danced a lot,
And really slow,
He held her close,
And she said, “Never let go.”

As the song ended,
They stepped outside,
She look straight ahead,
And saw bright lights.

With no time to move,
And no other choice,
She stood there,
And whispered with the rest her voice,

“Baby, I love you,
Always have, always will,
I didn’t want it to end like this,
With the way that I feel,
When they say ‘save the last dance’,
They mean it for real,

I’m dying now,
I’ll be gone soon,
Kiss me this last time,
Make it last to the moon.”

Yea. Very sad. But not in a bad way.. maybe you could make things less literal, unless you were going for that. Very inspirational and a life lesson too.
