Malpractice is not to blame. Frivolous lawsuits are to blame along with the ridiculous judgements and the resulting unaffordable insurance premiums. My wife used to work in administration at a hospital. OBGyn doctors are abandoning their practices in droves. One doctors insurance premiums exceeded his annual income.

My favorite story it the one where a doctor refused the treat the family members of an ambulance chasing attorney. We might be able to save the medical profession if more doctors would adopt the same policy.

malpractice is to blame to a certain extent however other factors are to blame also such as the fact that it is becoming harder and harder to get into med school and finish it and many people have realized that the lifetstyle is too much for them. Physicians work many hours and this leads to a strain on their family and friends.

Malpractice insurance is very high where I am from, and we have lost a lot of wonderful doctors because of this!
