A crucifix is the cross with the body of Jesus on it. We are members of the body of Christ so it is relevant until we die. I also like to remind people that there were three crosses on Calvary. One did not represent Salvation so to be sure you venerate the right one it should have Jesus on it.

The crucifix is the image of that.

A greusome little idol. A cross with a dead/dying man hanging from it and suffering. I don't understand why people would choose to look at it.
