First when choosing a shampoo choose one without Sodium lauryl sulfate (or sodium laureth or lauren-whatever it is) because it dries out your curly hair BAD. I picked this tip up a few weeks back and my hair has never looked so good. Then get a good thick conditioner-try Sunsilk Hair Masque-it's in a pink tub thingy. After that I use a leave in conditioner called REMEDY by silky sexy hair-www.sexyhair.com. After that I use a little Pantene leave in called smooth and sleek. I scrunch my hair while blow drying a little bit just to get some of the wet out. After that I top it off with Suave's healthy Curls Scrunching Mousse. It sounds like a lot to use. The most expensive thing is probably the Remedy stuff. I started doing this and my curls are healthy and not dry at all! And to top it off-they are not the least bit crunchy!!!!

I find Pantene products to be really moisturizing, which helps with tangling (I have curly hair too). But if you find that it's weighing your hair down, try a shampoo and conditioner designed for volume (there are many brands you can try. Try Paul Mitchell Awapuhi shampoo and The Detangler conditioner, which gives really light-weight conditioning). Something that may help is not applying conditioner to your roots. Make sure you apply to the ends only (to within a couple of inches of the roots).
To combat frizz, I use two products together: a shine serum and a curl cream. I put the shine serum on right after shampooing, while hair is still damp, sticking to the ends. Then take a curl cream or lotion (try Sunsilk Frizz-Free 24/7 creme, but I've tried others that work well) and apply sparingly but evenly from root to tip. If your hair still feels too weighed down, try Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam, which is really lightweight and moisturizing.

Get the Be Curly set from Aveda. It works really well, and encourages curl and eliminates frizz. There's something in it that expands when its wet and shrinks when its dry so it makes it curlier while taming the frizz. And no I don't work there :)

My hair is not that long but i have the same problem. My hair is very frizzy but its also flat. I use Herbal Essences which works really well! There are many types.. I change in between the types. You can choose one that you think will fit what is wrong with your hair. At the moment I'm using "none of your frizness" it works extremely well!
