My father past away over 8 years ago and my mom has been living with me every since.
I have been married and divorced and during this time she was living with me and my husband. Now I am 37 years old and she is still living with me but I feel now as if she is treating me like a child especially since I am no longer married. I would like to know the best way(tactful way) to let her know that I need my space now. I have 2 kids(boy and girl) who needs their own room but being a single parent now that is very difficult when I am not only providing for her but for myself and my kids. I have 5 other siblings but they don't want her living with them either. If anyone can help me or give me some direction I would appreciate it. She is retired and does not work and she has high blood pressure nad diabetes so I want to be careful on how I handle things with her. she lived with my 4 th older brother and his wife for less then 3 months and his wife put her out so she is difficult to love with.

Maybe start by looking nto other living options for her- to make sure she has some. Does she recieve disability or SSI- is there income for her to live off? There are many low-income housing available. Talk you ALL of your siblings together and tell them that you all must come up with a plan TOGETHER to care for your mother. It should be all of your responsibility- not just yours. Perhaps, if she is retired, she can live with one family for 6 months, and then another, etc. Or some other similar situation. Your other siblings need to step up and contribute in some way (financial or otherwise) Then approach your mom. At least if you have some options to offer her, she won't feel as though you are kicking her out. Good luck- I know it can be a very touchy and emotional issue.
