A good time in the 800 meters is 2:30-3:00 area. I would recommend working on stamina , go on longer runs say 2-5 miles on the weekends and build up your cardio. (it will help).
Good luck and have fun

If you are in high school, you can probably check your state's athletic association's website. Most states have a time that will qualify you for the state meet. That time would be an excellant time to reach for.

worse case, they will have last year's state meet results posted. Those can give you an idea of what the top compitition you will face will be running.

well girl high school track runners that are very good at my school run the 8 in about 215-218 so around 220 would be VERY good for your first time running it..also girls that run the mile at my school run it anywhere from 520-540 somewhere in there for a first year girl would be a very good place to start, good luck with your running career!!
