can you tell me whats wrong with my computer speakers?

so whatever sound my speaker plays, whether its music or a movie, the sound skips. its soo annoying and i cant get it to not skip. can you tell me whats wrong and what i can do to fix it?

Did you test your speakers with another computer?
The problem may be with your computer and not the speakers.
Your computer may not have enough processing power to play video and audio, so in order to catch up it skips.

a) Test speakers with another computer, if there is no skipping then you have a computer problem.

b) Test audio playback from CD. If skipping, maybe it is a CD-R drive problem
c) Test audio from file. Still skipping? Then a audio card or slow CPU problem
