Unless they are willing to take the legal steps required for citizenship, I believe that they should be sent back. Their main concern should be improving the economy in their own country. Once that happens, they won't have to come to the U.S. for a better life.

Illegal immigrants committed a felony by coming here illegally. Do you think a serial killer should be free and have a fair chance to start a new life?

I'm a LEGAL immigrant. Why should I have to fill out all the forms, go to all the offices, pay all the fees, and wait impatiently as my papers process, when someone can just cross the border and stay and all of a sudden get full rights (probably MORE rights!). NO. It shouldn't work that way. It's not an issue of race - like I said, I'm an immigrant (again, LEGAL), but a matter of committing a felony. As logistically impossible as it would be, I think ALL illegals should be sent back - no matter WHAT country they are from. If you want to stay, fill out the proper forms, pay the fees, and stay here legally like everyone else - and slap a FELONY on your record while you're at it. I'd say throw them in jail too, but evidently there are already many illegals in already overcrowded prisons (approx. 15% of prisoners in California state prisons are illegal aliens) and we can't afford to stash more CONVICTED FELONS in prison. Sorry for the rant, but it is VERY frustrating as a LEGAL immigrant when I'm doing my best to jump through the proper hoops set in place by the government and others, in complete disregard for authority and a total lack of respect for the US, just march in and expect handouts. If you truly want to live here and support this country and for what it stands, then do it right!

Jorge, America has laws in place to regulate the inflow of immigrants from around the world. When a person is in clear and flagrant violation of America's immigration laws, they are by definition a criminal who is trespassing within the sovereign nation of The United States of America.
All nations worldwide have laws to regulate immigration, many, such as mexico's are much more severe and strict than America's.
Just because a person is sneaky enough and has no regard for a nations laws or its citizens is no reason to claim the right to remain.
Excuse me for all of the big words but that is my way of expressing myself.
It's how I talk.

They should be sent back! Fair chance like us? What you're leaving out is that US are legal citizens, and THEY broke our laws to come over. If the illegal criminals want a fair chance then they can go through the legal process to get it!

We have limits on immigration of poor people because we have to subsidize their eduction and other services. This drains money (to the tune of $10,000 per child per year in Ca) from educating our own children. Their children are not more important than ours, and our children's schools are failing.

If you legalize those here under normal rules, they would each then be able to bring in family which would exponentially increase an already terrible problem in areas where they concentrate. Look at the schools and emergency room closures in LA, for an example.

Sent back. Pay higher tuition fees to attend college. The reason? Because so many Legal immigrants came here and had to pay a price to be a citizen; not to mention, they did it all legally.

Ummm...some of both. We can't support as many as we have, but immigration IS what America is all about!
