does it have an external or internal regulator?

all of the mopar vehicles of that time had external voltage regulators. it is located about in the top middle of the firewall , next to the external resistor. it is a small black box about three by two inches. you can up grade to the newer alternator w/ the built in regulator w/ no problems.

external it is located on the back of the firewall , a little silver box about 3 in by 4 in with 3 wiers in a plug in.

all dodge cars and trucks in the 60s had a external reg.

Just like everyone else says its on the firewall, next to what I have known ans the Balast Resistor.
