Besides making whipped cream, there are many other things you can do with heavy cream. I like to make flan using heavy cream. There are also many sauces that you can make with heavy cream. You can make creamed spinach. You can cook those pre-made tortellinis and add cream and butter and some parmesan cheese, or you can make your mac and cheese much richer with cream. I prefer cream in coffee to milk. You can make 'real" ice cream. You can use cream in place of some of the milk in a quiche. You can use it in cream soups. You can make chocolate ganache.

Meeee! Whipped cream is the best when its homemade, so here are the directions.

First freeze the beaters and the glass bowl for 20-30minutes. Immediately after you take them out of the freezer put the heavy whipping cream (1cup), 2 tbsp. sugar, and a 1/2 tsp. of vanilla and beat on medium until soft peaks form. Your done. Store in the fridge until your ready to serve or use.

Now as far as recipes that have heavy whipped cream I usually use it for my Fettucine Alfredo. You can do a search on the web for the recipe that sounds best for you.

Heavy whipped cream is used a lot in French cooking. Custards are good. For a full pudding/custard used in cakes you can subsitute 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream for the milk in the recipe. You can use it as a creamer for your coffe or use it a little of it over your hot cereal of choice.

Hope this helps some.
Now you got me hungry with a sweet tooth.

I am a chef so here you go...
1 qt heavy cream
1 tsp good vanilla
10x sugar to taste (1/2 cup or so)

Put all in mixer with a whisk attachment.
start on slow speed and increase speed as cream becomes thicker. Check often...You are looking for soft to medium peaks.
Enjoy!!

The 1st answer is correct. You can add a tsp. of vanilla for extra flavor. Make sure the whipped cream is well chilled & shift the powdered sugar first.

You mean what recipe uses heavy whipped cream?

We've put it in mashed potatoes and it's goooood. And butter too. They're not good for you after adding that stuff but taste good.

You don't need to freeze the bowl. It's actually not very Good to freeze it.
Just add 150gr of sugar/liter of cold cream and whip it fast.
Don't over whip it ,it will start separating and will become butter.
