Somone on a previous post stated Faith is a work, and cited 1Thel 1:3
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, you labor promted by love and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Please understand faith is not a work Faith produces work.

you are correct and the Bible agrees....

James 2:24-25
by works not faith alone a man is justified for faith without works is dead.
1 Tim 1 -- giving laws is an action - following the laws - those are also our works
Col 3:14-17 - whatever you do DO in the name of the Lord (works, action verb)
Eps 5:15 - prior and post is good to but - this is how to walk the way of God - that also a verb/work

Rev 3:8
8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
(KJV)

Eccl 12:14
14For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
(KJV)

Rom 2:5-6
5But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
(KJV)
following the 10 commandments - action/work
walk in love - that doesn't just mean to smile and be lighthearted in all things - that means out live and to be loving, we need to do good things, to DO God's will - those are also considered works

our faith is a gift from God, our works done in His honour and for HIS glory are the fruits of our faith!

No, faith is not a work. The Bible teaches that we are saved by grace alone through a repentant faith(trust) in Jesus as Lord and Savior, resulting in the fruit of the Spirit. (See Ephesians 2:8-10, Galatians 2:16-21, Romans 4, Titus 3:4-7, etc...) Also look on www.equip.org

True faith does produce works, but believing in Jesus does not necessarily result in producing good works. The two must go hand in hand. It is possible to follow His ethical teachings without fully believing in Him. Either way, one is not truly following the Christian path. The sign of faith is not that one claims to be "born again", but that one actually produces good works.

i'd accept as true with both truly one of your counts. My personal opinion is that that is often the church that places those recommendations into peoples heads ... worry and repenting. see you later as you repent once you sin, you're ok. a minimum of it really is my impact. no matter if I examine the Bible each and every from time to time, i attempt to enable my personal personal courting with God be my cornerstone. i do not flow to church because i stumble on maximum human beings there to be somewhat judgemental, or uninviting. The Bible says, although, that those who have not been taught about God or Jesus are not to any extent further exempt from wanting to trust in God ... that God should be obtrusive in each day existence. that is what delivered me lower back to Christianity after many years of watching different religions/strategies of questioning. I keep in recommendations this quote from Hamlet: "My words fly up, my recommendations proceed to be below: words without recommendations under no circumstances to heaven flow." i imagine it really is how countless folk are. Sorry if this did not extremely answer your question. only throwing some stuff accessible.

Our life in service of Christ is a work of faith. No work we do for ourselves calling it a work of faith will be good enough. He will help you discover what you are to do. We all have a different calling in His service.
