Sex is not a sin, God created in between two people a man and woman. When you take it out of content that's when it becomes a sin. Having sex out side a marriage covenant, witht he same sex, with another being while you're in a marriage convenant, animals, all this stuff makes it a sin. If its not done the way God intended then you go against God and you're walking in disobedience. Smoking isn't good for you, we are the temple of God. Just think of Jesus sitting inside of you and you are puffing away and screwing different people and you're not married and all of that and doing perverted things. What you are doing is diminshing the spirit in you which is from God.

Hum, the same passage where the Apostle Paul says that sexual immorality is a sin (because it defiles your body, which is the temple of God the Holy Spirit), also forbids doing anything else (like over drinking or over eating) that might ruin your health -- for the same reason.
I suppose smoking would fall into this category, and fundamental Baptists have taught for years that it does, but it seems that most people do not talk about the sin of tobacco any more for the same reason that no one talks about gluttony anymore, either.

Firrst of all sex in marriage is not sinful.
Of course sex is pleasureful, God created man and woman and told them to "be fruitful and multiply". It is a beautiful thing.
How and why you are comparing this to smoking I don't know.
God says in His Word that "..your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit..." 1 Corinthians 6:19 So to hurt your body by smoking is not a good thing.
Here is the bottom line. If you truly want to know about God and why Christians do this or that, read and study the bible.
If you need help with that feel free to email me.

Sex outside of marriage or fornication is gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. Moreover it is a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young.
I personally consider smoking sinful because its harmful to our body. Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and should not be defiled.
Have a great day

With the arrival of AIDS, sex is a killer too. Still, what a way to go....
To answer your question, I haven't a clue how something that brings two people together on such an emotional and spiritual level can be considered a sin, yet it is. It doesn't make sense at all.

hey don't get me wrong sex is amazing and the best way to pleasure urself, but it can kill u if ur not wise about HOW and WHO u do it with...i think the idea of having illegitmate children scattered around and having kids not know their father or either parent will screw up the world...did u ever think that this illgetimate child who doesnt know his father might fall in love with his/her half borther/sister??? not knowing they r related of course
another reason u can contract diseases that kill from sex if not done wisely correctly...if did irrseponsably ur asking to kill urself
now smoking i dont think it existed when the bible or any of the books were created....i think it can be somewat of a sin because it's like ur killing ur own self but very slowly
just my 2 cents

In order to understand how sex outside of marriage is sinful, you must understand the importance of families in the gospel. Families can be sealed to each other for eternity even to make one large eternal family.
Premarital sex brings children into this world before they are ready to be sealed to their parents. Thus premarital sex disrupts the Father's plan by removing a key ingredient, the sealing for eternity.
It is also to be noted that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believes that smoking is a sin just like the others.

In my religion smoking (and drinking) IS a sin. Sex is sacred (because it strengthens our relationship with our spouse and it's the tool that let's us create new life, which is a god-like power), itself, it's not a sin. It's so sacred that it's considered to be misusing that gift to have sex in a realtionship that is less than committed in marriage. (BTW, we consider ourselves Christian, although fundamentalist Christians don't.)

Smoking IS. Your body is the temple, the Church if you will, of The Holy Spirit. Destroying your body by smoking is sinful.
About sex, read Galatians 5:19 to about 5:24.
Jesus loves you man. BELIEVE it!!

Sex is not sinful if it is within mairrage between a husband and wife. God created sex and mairrage. Read the Song of Solomon and 1 Corinthians 7. Sex is only sinful if it is done outside of mairrage. www.equip.org
