Yes, it's a sin. It is defiling the body which is a temple to our Lord.

But just try to tell a smoker that. They are blinded to what they are doing to themselves and everyone around them.

It's a disgusting habit.

Lol yeah it can be said to be a sin from one prospective but it won't stop Christians from doing it, those that do. They always have a get out of jail free card and they'll always say God will forgive them perpetually so it makes the whole not sinning thing nothing. Because hey God will just give you because of Jesus so you got a sweet insurance deal and can do anything you want, you're saved regardless to how you live.

It's really a man made doctrine, I don't see how people can find sense in it.

Everything that becomes an addiction or an obsession is sinful behavior. No gods or idols before Him, could include cigarettes. I know you don't bow down to them but do you smoke one in the morning before you have said good morning to the Lord? Do you reach for that before you reach to God? Those are the kind of questions I ask myself concerning habits.

I think it is a sin, yes. I also think God understands that starting smoking is a huge mistake, one which you really don't understand the full repercussions of until you actually get hooked, and that it is incredibly hard to quit. I did it though, and only with his help was I able to break the habit.

The body is one of God's gifts to us. Therefore, strictly speaking, any willful injury to the body for no purpose but pleasure is a sin.

Yes, smoking is a sin because it is harmful to your body and God wants us to take care of ourselves.
