So I have been single now for a long time( like 8 years which makes me 21.). I moved around alot as a kid and tried to meet girls. And I have taken some out on dates but they never seem to go past the first date. I pay for everything be a gentleman and get my heart broken instead. This happens alot (3 times since nov. of 2006) and my last two "relationships"" were terrible. I feel like throwing in the towel on this whole dating thing. Anyone else ever felt the same and did it get better or just the same crap?

MY HUSBAND WAS 40 YEARS OLD WHEN WE WERE MARRED HE HAD GONE THROUGH A LOT OF BAD RELATIONSHIPS ONE RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME, BUT HE SAID TO TELL YOU THE TIME IS NOW TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR SELF AND FIND OUT WHY YOU ARE ATTRACTING THE WRONG GIRLS AND GET ON TRACK WITH YOURSELF. A CAREER, CONFIDENCE AND THE LORD ALWAYS HELPS. GOOD LUCK AND TAKE IT FROM ME YOU ARE WAY TOO YOUNGE TO WORRY ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS JUST ENJOY YOUR YOUTH.

I have never had a long term girlfriend, and I am 26. Just dates that didn't go anywhere. I guess I am picky; In the past in highschool and in college, I didn't want to settle for anyone who was SNOTTY or IMMATURE...or always talking about MONEY...Thus, I have never had a girlfriend...I think that People of my Young Generation are for the most part...all spoiled and self-centered. Like you I am nice, polite, and a gentleman, and thus, it is not my fault that I do not have a girlfriend. It's society's fault. There is nothing wrong with me; there's something wrong with the world. However, I never give up hope, because the Universe has a plan for me. If I take pride in myself and my work and my health and being kind and considerate...the girl will find me. THE UNIVERSE HAS A PLAN.

What do you mean you moved around a lot? Like moving to live in different places? That probably won't get you a good relationship, because all the girls worth living for takes a while to start liking you. If you're being a gentlemen, I guess you might need to be more assertive yet patient.

If you keep doing what you've always done, you're gonna get what you've always got!

Here's something to think about. Instead of 'trying' to be a gentleman and doing the things that you 'think' that women likes, try to notice and experiment with what women ACTUALLY responds to. Honestly speaking, you're giving up to soon just because things don't happen the way you think it should.

Lay back, loosen up, have fun, and have an enjoyable and interesting life. :) Always remember that there are plenty of fishes in the sea.

It may always feel like it is going bad but your probably Lucky that your dates didn't go to farther. I think that the right person will find you and your looking to hard. I once went thru the same thing and that's why I settled and got married, I was scared I would always be unhappy and alone. You need to be happy and alone before you can make other people happy. Maybe your trying to hard to be liked and your dates think your phony. Be yourself and the right person will come your way!! Good luck.

trust me...been there, done that. don't give up though. you never know, you can meet the right girl any day of your life. If you trow in the towel, you can forget ever finding a wife, becuase putting yourself out there is the best way to ever find love. Don't give in yet. And if you do, dont tell a future gf that you ddi. she'll consider you a lazy person/not commited to finding the right one and that she just happened to come into your life

Don't worry, you're still young. Don't go looking for love all the time. just take slow baby steps with a girl you like.
