How do you tell someone that you have been with for 5 years, you are not happy with the relationship?

Omg!!! tomorrow is our 5Th year anniversary and I am going through he same thing, we are going to go to Vegas so I am going to see what happens, I really don't want to go with him but we have made these plans for a long time. Mine wont commit to moving in or getting married. Point blank we want different things in life and you don't see that your relationship is moving in the direction that you want to be moving. I know it is going to be hard, I have to say it too, but life is short and if you want children and want to be married then u need to move on and so do I. Good luck to you. I feel for you! Bur there is someone out there that you will find that will want to spend their life with you. Under these circumstances tell him face to face immediatly and make plans to leave him. Write it down and leave it for him to see (dear john letter)or mail it so you cannot take back what you say. Call at a time he won't be home and leave a voice messae with your feeling about his your wishes.If you are in a postions to walk out on him this is the perfect way to do this then you won't have to explain anything.

I find it very disrespectful that he dosen't want to marry you but you are good enought to lay up with and use your body for his pleasure. I find it even more disturbing that you don't have more self respect for yourself that you would allow someone to tell you this when this is not how you want to live. This is grounds for divorce in this country exercsie your right to get out of this relationship now. Good luck!

if your not happy you need to get out of the relationship. the longer you stay the harder it is going to be for you to leave. I sugest you start making plans to what you are going to need to do before you can go. also need to decusse this with him so you both are on the same page. this might help but i have been there and left my husband of 5 years. I will be the first to tell you it is not as easy as you think it is but if your not happy go for it. I am going to tell you what one of my friends told me, life is short so you should make the best of it. be happy not missareble....

Find another guy. If he never wants to get married, then you'll soon be stuck with him at the nursing home, without a ring on your finger while your friends are all having their grandkids visit them. You don't want the same things out of life, and unless he suddenly gets on the same program as you, you never will. There are plenty of awesome guys out there :) Good luck babe :)

In this case, it's not a matter of being happy or not, it's not even being on the same page. End it, and find a man who shares your values on marriage and children. Don't waste another 5 years.
