Like as not what you found was a pinworm. Common enough parasite, spread from hand to mouth after you handled something with the eggs. Kids get them all the time from the dirt and each other. Go to the pharmacy, or a place like Walmart pharmacy, and look for a product called Pin-X, or ask the pharmacist for an over the counter pinworm remedy. Take it as directed and you should have no further problems. They aren't deadly, just nauseating. Wash your undies, towels, and washrags, and other intimate contact items in hot water with a disinfectant to kill the eggs, and practice careful handwashing practices in future. Be really careful around small children and pets- they tend to be the carriers and spreaders. No need to panic, just get the medicine.

Yes, some people get them and some can make you sick so you doctor will need to check what's going on and possible put you on medication. If you see another worm wrap put the tissue in a ziplock (I know gross!!) or something airtight to show the doctor so they know what you are seeing. If you don't have any luck with the doctor their are homeopathic treatments available as well.

Save your money. Go to the local health food store and get some worming tincture. Only costs about $10.00 - 15.00 AUD. Just follow the instructions on the bottle. Nothing to be embarrassed about. If you've got pets or kids, I've got both, or even if you ever even have contact with either you are exposed to worms. Very contagious. I usually buy worming tinctures about every 4 - 5 months.

Pinworms are white, very thin, threadlike worms, about ¼ inch long.
It moves. (If it doesn't wiggle, it's probably lint or a thread.)
Itching and irritation of the anal area and buttocks. (Caused by secretions from the migrating female pinworm.)
The worm is usually seen in the anal and buttock area, especially at night or early morning.
Rarely, the worm is seen on the surface of a bowel movement.
You need medication from a doctor and help to keep from spreading them to others.
Do a google search on pinworms.

Yeah, it's not big deal. Just go to the doctor and he'll either give you some pills, or a prescription for this. If you can, try to save a worm for him. Don't worry, this happens all the time. Best of luck to you.

Definitely go to the doctors and get it checked out. I'm not a butt-worm expert, but just use common sense and go to the doctor.

No, you don't have to go to the emergency room. I read somewhere that we all have worms. DO go to the doctor and get some medicine that will kill the worms. You could always buy one of those natural parasite cleansers.

It is probably a pin worm and a doctor will give you medicine to rid you of them. We used to be told to eat raw cabbage to help eliminate them.

Yes! Go to the doctor. If you still have the worm, put it in a plastic baggie. You could have a serious problem! Head to your nearest ER.
