How do you talk to yourself?

* What names do you call yourself?
* When you make a mistake, do you say...
o What an idiot! How can you be so stupid!
o Can't you get anything right! What a loser!
o There you go again! You're not really up to it, are you?!!
* Who else has talked to you this way in the past?
* Why are you still listening to them?
* You can't change your past, but you can change the way you talk to yourself today.
* Start by making a LONG list of all the good things you have ever done.
* Catch yourself saying nasty things to yourself.
* Exclaim: Stop it!!
* Say the opposite to yourself, that you have achieved a lot of good things.
* Recite your list of achievements to yourself.
* Regularly review your list of Shoulds and tell yourself it's OK to be less than perfect.
* Be proud of what you have done and of what you are working on.

Heck yes! Sometimes I can have quite the conversation with myself, lol. But seriously I do talk to myself, sometimes its not intentional, just sorta happens. For instance, I may ask someone a question then remember the answer and tell myself the answer out load. Then there are the times that I'm bored and lonely and no one else is around so why not talk to myself?

yes, I normally do so when stating things out loud will help me remember them, but do so at other times also, I once had a teacher that told me that speaking aloud even when no one else can hear is one measure of high intelligence, that it shows that one can even debate with oneself and speaking the subject out loud can help come to a logical solution.

Yes, I have conversations with myself. Sometimes, I talk out loud practicing what I want to say to someone if I have something serious to talk about, and even act out their different reactions. Does this make me crazy...lol! I don't do it in front of other people, just alone.

yes, all the time. I think it is a way to organize my work load, and sometimes I answer myself too! I think I am talking to my inner child.

Sometimes, I don't realize that I am speaking to myself and my co-workers ask, are you talking to me. lol
