Some Scientists say that the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere has been decreasing since the age of the dinosaurs. They say that T-Rex would never be able to survive on the earth (If there where T-Rexs on the earth) in this day. Some also say that decreased oxygen levels will cause disease to thrive!

I have read this as well --- After the dinasaurs, the largest critters were those called "terror birds" Big guys. Google them, and the ox. level as well during that time.... The ox. level was then much higher than it is now... And that hs been determined by snow core samples out of the Antarctic where the history of our atmosphere is stored.... interesting stuff.

If you look at the details you might see the oxygen level has never changed even though sceintists think otherwise. The CO2 level has changed a lot however. The dynos lived in a much higher level of CO2 in the atmosphere. Someday science will get this but its a slow process to change anything in the books. Its a first to publish thing. The first thing they adopt is what they have. Anyway, it is easy to show the CO2 level was much higher way back because the coal and oil in the ground got there from plants that removed the CO2 from the atmosphere and stored it as hydrocarbons in the ground. So, all you need to know is how much carbon is stored in the ground. As for oxygen everything is saturated with it so where can any more be stored

Um... i'm not sure about the validity of that argument... but yes, oxygen levels on teh earth can decrease. They'll decrease if we keep cutting trees down. We breathe in oxygen, and give off CO2. Trees take in CO2, and release oxygen. If we keep cutting trees, then there may be a critical equilibrium point that we pass, and then the O2 will not be recovered as quickly as it is used up. Also, global warming will kill algae and cyanobacteria in the oceans, and they also are the major producers of O2 on the earth

yea the oxygen levels are already decreaesing, the polution not healthy for plants, the wastes being dumped into the water killing off algae and other o2 producing organisms. and then add to the fact that earths population is just rising so fast that they use up the oxygen as well.

yes its true, O2 is decreasing. Humans are slashing and burning the Amazon and other forests, also the oceans are becoming more polluted and they are actually the most responsible for creating O2.

really sad. I hope we wake up one day before we all suffocate.
