Faith is important to some people because it's a left over mind trait from when human conciousness evolved.
Before humanity became self aware, we were just another animal. One voice gave us instinctive commands (Not in a literal language, of course, but just feelings.) The other part of the brain just did as it was told.
Human society became too complex for this system too continue, and humanity evolved the means to think in analog models and metaphors (As opposed to Hungy/Not Hungry etc.)
Humanity became self aware, and using this ability of metaphors we used symbols for sounds and language evolved (The tower of babel crisis was what this was all about.) Our rational, analog, metaphorical mind seperated from out instinctive one- Leaving us with consciences.
Faith is a hangup, a way people shape their own conscience, in order to try and reclaim the bicameral mindset. It's a fault in the evolution of conciousness. Give it another hundred thousand years, and it'll be gone, and humanity will be without the innate need for this twaddle. People "of the faith" are simply mashing up their consciences with superstition, and calling the resultant "God".
Good luck and understanding, Rabbit.

Im not going to be rude and go down your throat but simply and camly explain the reasons why catholic believe and why...
We feel it necessary to believe just not for the sake of beleiving, but because it is true and in our faith. There is so much evidence of God in the day around us...miracles...the Bible..unexplainable happeneings...spirits....why would so many people believe in something that is not true? People are born with faith and correctly exposed to God growing up. I do nto know how so many people can just think that anyday can be there last and that is it. How can you live your life like that knowing that ulitamtly there is not punishment for what you have done on earth or no recognition of the person you have become? (I am not being selifsh in saying this). People have to have faith and hope...It is very well what keeps us all alive. Just because you cannot see somehting does not mean it does not exist (ie-air)....
I hope this informed you on why...these are my thoughts not yours so dont take offense. :)

It's not somebody.. otherwise wouldn't ma and pa be enough?
And its not something either - otherwise, we could just listen to the government and be done with it.
Humans aren't just mere machines, we don't just eat, sleep, live and die. There are ideas/theories, both scientific and spiritually that suggest that we are a part of a larger purpose, a larger fabric of which we may never know anything about. To fill in the gap between the true meaning of our existance and the daily hum drum of our lives, and the only reality that we can sense and know, is God.
If you believe that what you see is what you get, then God does not exist for you. If you believe in infinity then that is God.
As for religion telling people what to do... do not confuse human created INSTITUTIONS with the true spirit of God.

Because we are small, because we are minute, we are the eternal servitors of God. In this material world also, in ordinary behavior, we see that a man goes to serve another man because the other man is greater than he and can pay him a nice salary. So naturally the conclusion is that if we are small, our duty is to serve God. We have no other business. We are all different parts and parcels of the original entity.
A screw that is connected with a machine is valuable because it is working with the whole machine. And if the screw is taken away from the machine, or if it is faulty, it is worthless. My finger is worth millions of dollars as long as it is attached to this body and is serving the body. And if it is cut off from this body, then what is it worth? Nothing. Similarly, our relationship is that we are very small particles of God; therefore our duty is to dovetail our energies with Him and cooperate with Him. That is our relationship. Otherwise we are worthless. We are cut off. When the finger becomes useless the doctor says, "Oh, amputate this finger. Otherwise the body will be poisoned." Similarly, when we become godless we are cut off from our relationship with God and suffer in this material world. If we try to join again with the Supreme Lord, then our relationship is revived.

Everyone believes in something.
Everyone has faith in something.
No man is an island.
I think faith without reason is dumb; if you have no reason to believe in God, then don't; there are other things you have reason to believe in that others will think foolish.
Go live your life the best way you believe and forget about others who think otherwise.
It's a BIG world out there my son...there's enough room for very many faiths and beliefs.

If people weren't created some systems could be set in place. Any human who isn't contributing truthfully to society yet is taking over area, respiratory the air, using the water, ingesting the water, and ingesting the nutrition could be at present accomplished. Suicides should not be stopped, they might not matter (people might in basic terms be destiny malicious application nutrition and not something extra). people inflicting society issues could additionally be accomplished. they may be an unneeded rigidity to the human mammals. Or why spend materials to assist rescue malicious application nutrition whilst sufferers of organic mess ups? sure, placed out fires as an occasion yet why rescue? it would not matter if absolutely everyone lived or died, they weren't created. Violent gangs could in basic terms be device gunned down, why submit with them? There may be no "wish to keep or redeem them" risk. Make room on earth for extra appropriate mammals! Why no longer make serial rapists into quadriplegics surgically or execute them? Why provide them a 2nd risk? they might not be worth it. people who cried whilst somebody died could be crushed for stupidity, they may be crying over malicious application nutrition! i in my opinion think of that perception in God is important. i desire people to have worth, no longer be certainly executable malicious application nutrition!

Faith not based on fact is fantacy... The faith of The True Christian is based upon the Absolute Fact of God's existance, and on what God has done for The individual believer... It is the certainty of that Fact that is the basis of our Faith that what God tells us is The Truth...... Why is Faith in God so important?...because those who fail to come to God in The Way He prescribes will be eternaly seperated from Him....and that is not going to be a good thing... it is much better to accept what He is offering you than to reject Him... because if you continue to reject Him, untill your last concious mortal breath, what is going to be your fate is not going to be to your liking. for sure... because God will reject you.

Not need so much as want. This world is coming to an end someday and I don't relish the alternative to faith in God.
I'm not in the least bit scared to die. I know where I'm gonna end up and I welcome going home to Heaven.

I GAVE UP FAITH A LONG TIME AGO. HOWEVER, BEFORE THAT, IT GAVE ME A MORAL BASE OF OF BEHAVIOR THAT HAS KEPT ME CENTERED IN MY INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER LIVING THINGS. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE A GOOD PLACE TO START. THAT ARE AS VALID TODAY AS THEY WERE WHEN FIRST WRITTEN.
THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE THAT ACT AS IF THEY WERE "THE TEN SUGGESTIONS".
