When you reinstall windows, the drivers for the monitor, sound card, usb, etc. must be reinstalled also... If you don't have them for your computer, go to Driverguide.com and register ( it's free ), and you can download all of them, You will need to know what type of monitor you have, the name and model, and sound card name and model, if you don't have these or can't find them then go to Belarc and download the Advisor, install it, it will tell you everything on the PC. As far as MS Word, Excel, etc. You should have the OEM Disc from Microsoft for these, if not then you were using a trial version, Anytime you reinstall windows, All Drivers, Documents, Pictures, etc. that are not backed up before reinstall are gone for good... Hope this helps, if you need more info, then check my profile and send me a email... Good luck

You need to driver cd which came with your computer to install the monitor drivers to increase the resolution.

Ms office comes on a seperate cd and not on the xp cd.
