I thought it had to do with getting Saddam Hussein out. Why are they still in their killing innocent people?

2007-02-06 11:44:43 · 30 answers · asked by Anonymous in Politics & Government Military

Some of you know very little. You think that no innocent people get killer by American and British soldiers? You have a lot to learn. 100's of them are killed everyday, and not by their own people.

You have to open your eyes and see that what they are doing is wrong. First of all I don't think they were their for Saddam in the first place, that was just an excuse. Not only do I think it was for oil, but also because they just want more power. Imposing their own beliefs about democracy and their own rules on another country just gives them more power. Bush especially is power hungry, and he is seriously becoming too much now. I feel kind of sorry for Blair though. I don't think he wants to do this, I think he's somehow being bullied by Bush into doing it.

Another thing, terrorist attacks in American don't make it ok for them to go and kill people in Iraq. Does that make any sense? Terrorism is wrong in Islam, so why would you assume that if a terrorist does something...

...then everyone should go and blame the muslims and start killing their innocent children or anyone really. I'm sorry, but there is no way any of you can justify the Iraq war.

That is a good question. Why? Probably because the u.s. government won't quit till they have control of the oil and the country. No other reason. If Iraq would have been left alone, they would have been much better off. Instead, the bush foundation started a war based on lies and revenge. Iraq did nothing to us.NOTHING. NO part in 9-1-1. Now that one of the 7 deadly sins, "GREED" has taken over, this so called "war" won't be over till the bush foundation is out of office. They are going to continue to line their pockets with big money, while continuing to borrow money from other countries to fund the "war". Look at the quality of work that the contractors did over there. The so called police station is falling apart, leaking sewage and the like. Shoddy contractors? YES!, BUT, the money that was suppose to re-build Iraq is burning holes in the pockets of the u.s. government. This is what happens when you have a combination of power and greed.. Nothing but trouble. Pure, unadulterated trouble, in which alot of us are going to have to pay for for years.

The war in Iraq was planned for reasons we know all too well; Pax-American Imperialism, Greed and revenge being the 3 which spring immediately to mind.

Once the 3 above reasons were allowed the opportunity to be used under the war cry; “Terrorism and WMD!!” (9/11), there was a headlong redneck patriotic rush to invade Iraq. That was the easy part.

The difficult part as the bellicose neo-cons have now discovered is that:

A: Bush and his belligerent cohorts idea of ‘freedom’, does not travel well outside their neo-con American mindset.

B: (If I may use one of moron Bush’s utterances), the yanks “misunderestimated” (sic), both their enemy’s courage and resolve and their so-called ‘Iraqi allies’ welcome.

C: The combination of US arrogance and brawn allied with unforgivable naivety at best and criminal stupidity at worst, has culminated in a war the US cannot ever win.

Therefore, a war where an immediate withrawal is out of the question whilst the half-wit is in power due to the gung ho redneck American philosophy. And a war where even a gradual phased withdrawal from any other future US administration will be seen as an American defeat akin to Vietnam.

I guess to really attempt an answer to the question one must ask;
Who will tire of the killings first? The Iraqi insurgents or the American Electorate?

Thus my belief the Americans are fighting a losing war. To borrow a line from Mr Jones...

"They don't like it up 'em Sir"

The Americans aren't there killing innocent people. If that was so where do they find the volunteers to blow them self's up.Yes regrettably innocent people have died but because the insurgents are there to fight the Americans and they can't leave because of the instability caused by the insurgents then the troops will have to stay.
Crap war over crap ideals and it's a mess but provocative crap statements like yours that seem to be asked for effect rather than out of genuine concern will not help anyone.

Ok when Saddam Hussein was toppled. There was a power vacum. Previously Iraq was formed by the British after the second world war and constitued of the Kurds in the north and mosul in the south. The Sunni Muslims hate the Shi'eit Muslims and vs versa which is reminscent of the catholics and protestants in Northern Ireland. Saddam kept the peace albeit by terror in Iraq. Now he has been removed all hell has broken loose and the country is on the verge of civil war. This is why.

The war was started on a pack of lies...

You believed the stuff Bush and Blair said.It was never about Saddam Hussein or terrorism,it's about oil.
Strangely there are people in Iraq who don't like having a foreign army there and who would rather keep their oil so some of them attack the foreign troops, hence the fighting.

1. because iraq is in total chaos now, and installing american democracy there will take very long , too many iraqis disagree whith it and they hate america, so americans have to make sure they vanish before living.

2. halliburton and black water, are two companies that are making loads of money there ,by billing the u.s tax payers for everyhting that they do and they spend wildly, for example, they dont change tyres, they simply blow the truck and ask for an other.
people in the us government own shares of this companies , so if they are making money why stop?

There is still a war in Iraq because after toppling Saddam Hussein's evil rule the country has to transfer power to it's own governing power and that is proving difficult because of a number of reasons not the least of which is support from Al-Quida to disrupt American peace keeping forces in Iraq that are trying to help Iraq be self supporting and capable. If that does not occur then they are vunerable to civil war, etc and will fall into a state that is ripe for terrorist turmoil and manipulation. If we leave too soon we do so at our own peril.

If somebody invaded your country and tried to impose their will on you, wouldnt you fight to preserve what you love and believe in?

Nobody has a right to impose their beliefs or impugn those of others, especially when the original reason for the invasion was found to be null and void.

The Iraqis didn't want to be invaded and are fighting to protect their beliefs.

three words: "military-industrial complex"

this business of war is making a lot of people very rich. To them it's not about winning or losing, it's about being in a perpetual state of war. If we left Iraq, we would disrupt Halibuton's revenue stream.
