http://www.ashley-web.org/photos/displayimage.php?album=102&pos=8 here's a link to the scan of the hair (dont look at the other pics, because this one is different). I'm in love with it, but I don't want to take this picture and not know what I'm asking for, and get something totally weird. Or, does anyone know of better pics of her short hair?

Well, I guess I will go against the grain here...

If you are having trouble when you bring the pic in and not getting what you like, then maybe you need to either go somewhere else, or at least get a different stylist.

Because, as pointed out, the stylist vocabulary is different for each, and really it is easier to say just give me this style then for you to go in depth explaining it.

Hope I was of some help!

You want a shoulder length bob with soft, layered, medium bangs.

Check the hairstyle section of www.matrix.com. It has detailed photos of hair cuts organized by length & you'll probably find something similar.

The other option is to do an image search on Yahoo! Just put in Ashley Tisdale, click on the image tab & see if better photos come up.

Lastly, there are lots of magazines dedicated to hairstyles @ large bookstores.

The 1st answer makes a valid point. It's not a big deal to bring the photo & you're more likely to get the cut you want.

Since all hair stylists have their own vocabulary, layers for some is feathered for others, you should always bring in a pic if you can. If you are not getting the results you want, perhaps, your hair type isn't right for the style. Another possibility is that your stylist isn't giving you the right cut for your type of hair. The same cut isn't right for all hair types. A bob on thin, fine hair will look different on thick, course hair. Try to find pics of people with similar hair types to yours and you are more likely to get the results you are looking for. Don't be afraid to make your stylist describe in detail what he or she thinks your are asking for. Make sure they understand what your are really wanting. A good stylist will be glad to explain everything to you.

I really think you should take the picture with you if you want the best results.
Better safe than sorry.
