I have an iMac G3 with OSX 10.4 and i want to install linux on it, but still be able to use os x. any ideas? also, which type of linux is best? im trying ubuntu

He said install Linux not try it, learn how to read noob. Check out my sources, and good luck. Ubuntu is sweet. Also check out Beryl when you get everything up and running.

I haven't seen any Linux that you can install on a Mac without partitioning the hard drive to make a Linux partition. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you will need to partition the hard drive, thus erasing all of the data on it. Then you can install OS X and Yellow Dog Linux.

I have read about some software you can buy that will allow you to partition the hard drive without erasing any data but I hesitate to recommend it since I don't know if it will setup a Linux partition.
