They won't hurt you but they won't be as potent as they would be, before the expiration date.

Yes, they do. Centrum has the expiration date on them. They begin to loose they potency and can actually be bad for you after a certain time. look at this site:

Vitamins gradually lose potency as the pills become exposed to sunlight, oxygen and moisture. While they may not become toxic or harmful, expired vitamins may not provide the results you want. Vitamin manufacturers set expiration dates by performing stability tests. These tests show how much the product will degrade over time. Vitamin manufacturers then add enough of the raw nutrient to compensate for any lost potency. Furthermore, certain vitamin formulations contain fillers and stabilizers that have a recommended shelf life.

They are usually good a little bit beyond their expiration date--unless they have been exposed to extreme heat or cold.
Check out your bottle and make sure that the date is the expiration date, and not the date of manufacture.

Not a good idea to take any kind of "expired" meds. While some of the "ingredients" have a longer shelf life than others, alot of them have a chemical change after a specific period of time, and could be really harmful.

Absolutely. Look at (all medicines including vitamins) have expiration dates. I was a medication specialist for two years & quarterly I had to check vitamins & asprin for exp. dates. They loose potency & can make you sick.

In general, once they're expired they'll lose their power. I don't think it can hurt you but you won't get the benefits of the vitamin, either.
