Ok, so maybe you're into self piercing.

Do RESEARCH on www.bmezine.com.

If you're going to do it (which, you really should have help, it's an extremely difficult piercing to get straight and it does hurt when you do it yourself), then PLEASE use the correct needles and jewelry.

You want to have at least a 14g needle, tribeveled and autoclave sterilized. DO NOT USE A SAFETY PIN. For one, it's not really sharp enough to do a good job, and you will have more trouble healing.

The piercing itself should be at the base of the aereola, when the nipple is erect. Do not pierce through the outer part of the nipple, and do not pierce too close to the tip.

The rings that you use have to be of a specific size. If they are too small, they will cause you serious problems. If they are too large, they will be very uncomfortable and cause your piercings to migrate from irritation.

Do some research on MASTITIS. This is an infection that you could potentially contract (not to mention Herpes or worse) if you are not extremely clean and careful. It will cause gaping pockets of infection in your breast tissue and at worst, you could lose a breast.

Another concern is the fact that you are a woman. In the future, you may want to breast feed. If you place the piercing improperly, you might damage your ability to nurse a child. Properly placed nipple piercings are usually not a problem, but if you screw it up... you'll have a lot of scar tissue.

I am NOT AGAINST NIPPLE PIERCING. I think they are beautiful and courageous piercings. I STRONGLY recommend that you have a pro do it. I've had my nipples pierced twice - once by me (the first time) and a second time by a pro. I have to tell you that it was excrutiating by comparison to do it myself, and they grew out anyways. Please, listen to me from experience.

Whatever you decide, please do some research. www.bmezine.com is great place to start.

Best wishes,

Rob

Try that and let me know how that works for you....Seriously there is a reason why professional places use piercing needles. They are different from any needle or pin that you have. Secondly this is very painful and isn't one of the easiest piercings to do. You can do some serious damage if you don't know what you are doing. If you want it that bad save up your cash, (even if it takes a year) and do yourself a favor and get it done the right way.

LOL! You've got to be kidding me.

You don't want someone else doing it for you even though they are professional, discrete and know what they are doing?!

You're nuts thinking that a safety pin it acceptable for ANY piercing. Furthermore, nipples are one of the more difficult piercings to do correctly. It has to placed at the correct depth and location as to not damage your nipple or breast and cause serious issues. Nipple piercings are easily infected and have a pro do it will greatly reduce the risk for that.

I STRONGLY suggest you save your money and have a professional piercer do it for you. There are female piercers if it will set you at ease and they see so many breasts and genitals they don't even care anymore.

Peircing ears with a safty pin I can understand...not as dangerous. But a nipple? Very fragile area. If you have pro friends then I would think they would have access to actual peircing needles. That's what you need and to trust a pro to do it for you. It's safer than doing it yourself. It can cause a loss of feeling there...not a good place to screw with your nerve endings ya know?
Your not stupid....but just be smarter than using a safty pin. Your friends that did it were lucky. You may not be so lucky.

Please get it done professionally. There are many nerves and blood vessels in the body that can be damaged by doing a home piercing, and I am sure that sensation in your breasts is something that you would want. Plus, there is a HUGE risk for infection, and there are so many dangerous things that could go wrong, it is literally making me shudder just thinking about it.

Go here : http:www.safepiercing.org if you need help finding a piercer, but usually any tattoo or piercing shop would be happy to help you, and I am a woman piercer (yes, we are out there) so maybe you can find a piercer that you are comfortable with.

I really hope that this is a joke. You should never pierce anything at home.Besides the risk of infection, there is no way you will be able to push a needle through yourself.Even if you manage to do it,it would be crooked and could cause nerve damage.Trust me on this, pay the 20 bucks to get it done professionally.

just get a safety pin and shove it through. Replace with an earing.

please don't do that. an infection in your nipple would suck. if you lost your nipple all together that would be a disaster
