I perform weddings and civil ceremonies. You could wear anything from a full blown gown (not recommended) to jeans and a tee. It's always nice to wear a pretty dress and carry a simple bouquet. Remember, you will have a few snapshots to remember the day so you want to look nice. Nothing overboard. Just fresh and pretty. Hope this helps.

People do it every day. You can wear what you like to a private wedding before a JP from a tee shirt and jeans to a full wedding gown with a train. It's entirely your choice. And if there's going to be a reception for your friends afterwards, I think something pretty and at least a little 'brideish' is a good idea. I'd recommend a tea length or floor length dress and perhaps some flowers in your hair. That way you look lovely and festive and bridal, but aren't trying to maneuver a long train and a hoopskirt through City Hall or the courthouse. Just a suggestion. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll look lovely and have a happy wedding. Best of luck to you and your intended.

I have no clue what is appropriate to wear, I'd probably go with a nice dress or skirt and top in white, not a wedding dress but similar. I just wanted to say "good for you!" for opting to go ahead and get married now and make your child legitimate. So many people get stuck on the idea of a perfect party and dress rather than remembering that marriage is really about family and taking care of eachother and your children. Have a wonderful wedding and enjoy your little one when he comes. :)

You can wear anything you want, but if it is in the courthouse or another government building, make sure you follow any dress code that building might have. Most don't have dress codes (other than the standard no shoes, no shirt, no service), but sometimes a judge is picky about what you can or can not wear in his court- (for example, no flipflops or hats or whatever).
I had a JP marriage and wore jeans and a t-shirt. If you are having wedding later, you can wear whatever you want. But keep in mind that you will probably take pictures. I wish in retrospect that I had gone casual-formal - like a simple but nice dress- and I wish my husband had worn slacks and a simple but nice shirt. This is only because we have pictures and we look sloppy in them! lol Most people will only see your real wedding pictures and the professional pictures anyway so it doesn't matter too much.

I was 17 & married by a Justice of the peace. I wore jeans & a T-shirt.
I saw women in plain dresses and a few in wedding attire.
Wear whatever you are comfortable in.
Congradulations on your upcoming baby & marriage.

i was at a court date (for my divorce, oddly enough!) and there were all sorts of couples in the hallway waiting to be married by the justice of the peace. some were very plain dressed. some had nice dresses on. the men were the same...either had a nice suit or just plain clothes. some carried flowers, some did not. so, i think either way you do it, you won't feel or look out of place. congrats and good luck!

You can wear whatever you want. I won't bother with a traditional wedding afterwards... safe the money for the baby or your house.

Wear anything you're comfortable with. Usually it would be something nice, but not all-out dressy - perhaps something you would wear if you were invited to a friend's wedding.
