Apply heat directly to the area and remove any clothing that will rub and irritate it. You have lymph nodes in the groin area, and it could simply be one of those that has gotten irritated and enlarged. It would be just as painful, and feel like a small round pea under the skin. Or it could actually be a small cyst/pimple, and the elastic of the undies isn't doing it any favors. If it is a lymph node, it will go back down if you just remove the irritation factor. If it is a cyst, it may not, and if it is a pimple it will come to a head and drain with the heat. Apply the heat as hot as you can stand it, as often as you can stand it. Do not squeeze, poke or prod it at all. If it is an infection under the surface, breaking it underneath will just spread the infection and make things worse. Ditto if it is a cyst. A cyst is a sweat gland which has become completely blocked off, and as it is part of the body it is not really an infection. If you break it, though, it will cause a local reaction and a major attack, which will be larger and more painful.
If you can, go without the undies or wear the old waist high sort so the elastic is not directly on the spot or near. Go without as often as you can, wearing loose garments to get air flow in there. Keep applying the heat, which will increase blood supply to the area and encourage it to form a head or in the case of a cyst, force it to the surface. Eventually it will drain all on it's own. Then you need to keep it covered with a bandage and very clean, with an antibacterial soap. Be careful not to touch that spot and other spots of skin, as you can sometimes spread the infection. Keep waistbands off the area until it completely heals. Also, lay off the bath oils, body lotions, powders and scrubs until it goes away. Those just aggrivate things, and sometimes they can even be part of the original cause. With luck, and heat, it should resolve all by itself in a week. If it simply gets larger, though, you would need to visit a doctor to have it removed in the office.

Take an ice cube and hold it there for a few minutes to numb it. Then use a sterilized needle to gently pierce it and drain it. After that, use alcohol to make sure it doesn;t get infected. Could be an infected or ingrown hair. Ouch ! I know how you feel. just try to get it as numb as you can.

Try putting an ice cube there to really numb it before you do anything, and make sure that when you do break it use a thin, sharp object that is sterile. Don't forget about first aid afterwards.

Soak it in the bath tub, make the water as hot as you can stand,
soak for about an hour, this will loosen things up a bit, it may even pop on it's own, if not, at least it will be a little softer for the poppin.

Stick it with a pin!!! Dip the pin in alcohol first to sterilize. Once it breaks it should be easier to squeeze out.

Ice the area down to numb it, then use a sterilized needle to puncture the top.
