Yeah, check to see if there is rotting food stuck in his teeth. Also, you could try a Dentabone, which dogs absolutely love. Great chew toy, plus has other ingredients to fight canine hallitosis. If you try that and the problems persists, check with the vet.

My nine year old daughter had this same problem. The doctor put her on antibotics for a few days because she had drainage mucous from her nose that ran down the back of her throat. Antibotics dried it up and the bad breath stopped for awhile, it was only a quick fix in her case.

Also, may I just say that children do not brush their teeth well, so I suggest making your child brush before bedtime supervised and with help for atleaset a few minutes. Make sure you switch toothbrushes regularly. My two year old can also swich and spit, try that too, and buy the childrens dental floss that they can hold in their hand themselves and do (supervised). Good Luck!

Similar problem with my friends cat, turned out to be a rotten tooth up the back of his mouth. Take him to the vet and get it checked out, it will fall out on it own but will be uncomfortable for the dog until it does.
