A 60 amp isn't going to be big enough to keep up with a 1000 watt amp. But there are some things you can do to your system to make sure you got what you need when you need it without getting a new 75 amp or bigger alt. I would put about a 3 Farad cap in. this will make sure the amp isn't pulling on the battery and the alt when it needs some extra juice when you showing off what you got. The 1 farad would work but for not much more money I would go with a little bigger to be safe. Let me know and I can price all this stuff for you... Keep it Xtreme

You could go to a high current amp that is 1000w and throw a power capacitor in line to store the power when it is really needed. Usually you should have 1 farad for every 1000w also I would run an optima gel cell battery or equivalent that would help out as well.

yeah, i'd recommend upgrading the alt. i've had better results with that too, than adding capacitors. your amp would likely play but it would cause a strain on everything else you had, not to mention the alternator, etc. your amp wouldnt get as much current as it needs which can lead to other problems.

Why didn't you say so...here is a calculator that does just that. Microsoft Excel is required.

You need at least a 75 amp alternator.

_______________

No capacitor will "make up for" the current loss you need.

it wont take longe to fry your altenator with that amp.your best bet is to get a aftermarket altenator around 125 or 140 and add a compasitor
