Stop Loss affects everyone in the Military. If you are short meaning 6 months left after deployment date the chances are you wont even deploy. You will stay in the rear. If they do put a stop loss, then yes you will deploy. I got stop lossed 1 month before my EAS. I stayed in an extra 7 months. My EAS was Feb 01 03 and the stop loss was to effect all Marines with EAS after Jan 31 03. Some kind of luck huh?

Unless congress comes down with a 'stop-loss' for you, you shouldn't have any problems.

There are only two ways that you can go on any type of assignment (tdy, deployment, pcs, etc):

1)Stop-Loss (only applies to deployment)
2)Voluntarily extend out so that you have enough retainability to finish out your assignment.

The gap is so big from this August to next January when your brigade is scheduled to deploy... I'd be suprised if they stop-lossed you.
