I dated a guy from when i was 22 until i was 25. I really liked him i thought everything about him was perfect...only he was dating a bunch of other girls and would not settle down. We were young and i understand that. Anyways I am 26 now and have not been in touch with him for the past year. I really thought by now i would be over him but i still want to see him and dont have a clue of where he is. Which is probably a good thing. I have dated so many other guys and sometimes i like them but most times i dont and as hard as i try not to i always compare them to him. How long does it take to get over someone? If ever...Can u really feel like someone was made for u?

Well Jay no matter how many times you date and get into relationships whenever they fall apart you will always feel this loss, because you invested your heart, time and energy in them. You two had something special - but it's over now. It may take a while for you to meet someone who meets the mark, but I guarantee you , you will find someone more exceptional , you just need to be patient. Try to be open-minded as well, as you may be cheating yourself of an opportunity which is just around the corner to love someone again.

They're many guys out there, trust me, there
is more than one person out there for us all, the bad part is that it will take a little while to find him. Just have faith

I was told that it takes twice the time you were with some one to afterwards "get over" them. so if you were with him 3 years it could take up to 6 years to COMPLETELY let go.

My Grandmother told me that nothing heals the broken heart faster than a new love.

I don't think you ever get over your real first love. I never have. I think we were made for each other , but he seems to think other wise. he broke up with his g/f and had me call him thn told me he never should have ended it with me, but then a week later who do you think he was with??? sure wasn't me!!! so maybe things work out for the best!!!
