My sister is 31 has 3 kids. The youngest is 3 and in the system. The other two resided w/Dad due to her neglect & abuse. Dad got hurt and lost it all. Asked me to help keep the kids until on his feet its been a month. There is no court order. I only have Power of Attorney, not much help legally but for emergencies. But she threatens to kidnap them and take to Vegas to use kids for economical reasons to support her habit. I tried a Temp. Restraining Order but Judge only gave it to me not the kids. Also she knows she has to work a program to get her youngest back therefore shouldn't have other kids until she gets the youngest in her custody. Im tired of her threats and am afraid the kids will be in danger and already say they will run away if she does take them to Vegas.. I want to get Guardianship of them but the Dad is no where to be found and last I saw him he said he was not able to care for the kids & wanted to appoint me & my husband Legal guardians. Help! I need advise.

Hope you can find the dad quick. You can also contact an attorney and explain all that is going on with the dad being gone and you can't reach him and since the kids are already with you, maybe you can get them to stay with you legally.

Get an attorney and take custody. If you can't afford an attorney, there are resources through your local court, where they can give you consultations. If that kids are in the system, then you could probably talk to the department and they can help you through the process. I don't know what state you live in, but in Arizona it is called department of economic security and they have a juvenile division and an attorney general handles all the cases for juveniles that need help. If you can sever her rights, you can get custody.

Your best bet would be to consult an attorney in your area (usually free) and they can point you in the right direction.

God Bless

First of all you need to apply through the family court system for temp custody. Don't start big because steps have to be followed anyway with the temp custody in place they should be safe from your sister. As far as the father is concerned you send the papers to the last known address registered and reciept requested and regular mail.

Get on the phone with Health Services Bureau of Child Care. Is in listings under State in the phone book. They will advise you of what you need to do. I am glad you were and are around for the kids. Good luck.

i do no longer see why you shouldn't have the prospect to have a infant. you're human and that's a human spectacular. the only ingredient which you pronounced that i could be troubled approximately is your medical concern and the different issues which you have. i does not be troubled for purely your babies, yet you. i could definetly get a medical opinion out of your surgeon and study it and notice if different women including your concern have had babies and how they have coped and overcame it. that is not impossible, besides the undeniable fact that it purely might make it slightly harder. everybody might desire to have the potential to have a infant!
