men are after you to find out whether or not you love them. when you eventually admit you do, the next thing they do is start taking you for granted. then they stop doing all the loving things they used to do eg. call you, take you out.

Not all men are like that, but it does seem that many of them are terrified of the "L" word. The idea of commitment and (God forbid) having sex with just one person for the rest of their lives just FREAKS some men. One word of advice - don't use the "L" word too freely and easily. Give it some meaning. However, if you really do feel that you love someone, you should tell them. If they respond in kind, then you've made a "love connection"...if they don't, and they bolt on you, it's better to know where you stand. Do be aware, too, that in all relationships, things change, then change again, then change again. They rise and fall like the tide. It's only natural and rarely can people maintain the "high" of a new relationship forever. That doesn't mean the relationship has gone south, it just means it's evolving. Take a look at yourself, too. Aren't you sorta different after a time in a relationship than you are at first?
