I am 27 and I believed he was 34. One day after a month of us dating he came clean and told me he was really 44. I already knew he had 2 young teenage boys and was married before. I have no kids and have never been married.
He is not the lying type. He feels if he told me his age I never would have given him a chance. I probably wouldnt have. He is a great guy besides this and family and friends like him.
Would you forgive him? If so how long would it take for you to get over the lie?

if he would lie about his age, it just makes me wonder about what else he would lie or already has lied about....When love is involved, age shouldn't matter. If you gave him a chance when you thought he was 34, what is the difference in him being 44..he is the same person....it still does not make it right that he lied to you about his age though.
In my opinion, older guys are more mature. When I was 19 I dated a guy that was 33. may sound gross to some people, but I wasn't in the relationship for everyone else i was in the relationship for us. The guy did not look his age but he was mature enough to be a gentleman, not like a child like most guys that I met that were my age.

This is a tough situation. But if he lied to you about a thing like age, there are probably other areas he's insecure enough to lie about too. Its understandable that he would be a bit worried about an age difference. But in a truly adult relationship there should be no room for big lies. I'm not saying you can't use little white lies (for example not telling him about a surprise). But to purposely mislead someone you supposedly care about means there are bigger issues there. If he came clean to you about having kids and being married previously...he should have come clean about his age. Age is a pretty minor thing if you truly care about each other. I would recommend the both of you do some major soul searching alone and together and do what feels right for you.

Yes, this happened to me kind of. I thought they guy I knew was around 22 and instead he was in his 30s. I forgave him and things were great. He also said I wouldn't have given him a chance if I'd known how old he was (and this was probably true). I'm actually pretty glad he lied or I would not have gotten to know him.

Wow, that something odd to lie about. I mean you could easily find that out. Maybe he just feels 34. Maybe he is the lying type and you just don't know it yet.

Forgive him, he told you after one month of dating, that might mean he likes you and wants a lasting relationship with you, older guys are more fun anyway!

well, maybe u should forgive him, i mean like he said maybe u wouldnt have given him a chance, so he felt that he had to lie about it. just make sure theres NO MORE LYING!!!

depends how much of a big deal the age thing is.. I've had that happen but if you like the person and get along good,, no biggie
