I've been using Orthotics for over a year and trying herbs and acupuncture. It mostly hurts if I try to walk bare foot, but not too bad if I have well padded shoes on.

Hey, why are you eliminating the surgery? I did it 23 years ago. There is no reason to live with the pain when there is such an easy cure. The procedure takes only a few minutes and you are free of the pain. Reconsider the surgery. It really only involves the clipping of one nerve and it's done. For all the money you uselessly spend on shoes, you could be done, man.

Just because you cant feel the pain does not mean it is not causing damage. Find a chiropractor who uses an activator (instead of a bone cruncher) if possible. There is a book on pain - The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies that is a good resource. Orthotics will help minimize the pain
