We got sucked into Vietnam.
Im sure popular pressure had something to do with it , But the govt also used that as an excuse to get us out of something they knew they could not win legitimately.
Lousy war bit in the end we outspent the Soviets which along w/ their own "Vietnam" in Afghanistan led to their collapse.
Iraq is different...they have Oil.
They also had a monster that needed taking down.
Sorry to say I saw the disrespect given to our troops returning from Vietnam.
Did not support the war but never blamed our soldiers.
Most of them were draftees.
Our armed forces are now volunteerswith a sense of purpose.
& I honestly believe they are well respected.

The biggest similarity I see is that both were unsupported by the populace, and that in both instances, we fought against guerilla tactics and had difficulty identifying the enemy. In fact, Bin Ladin has used the experiences of Vietnam, and openly stated that his goal is to turn the opinions of the masses against the efforts of the soldiers. He said that if they could manage to make that happen again, we were defeatable. They know they can't beat our military prowess and technology, but they can defeat us by weakening our resolve and causing us to collapse from within. Seems like they've done a good job.

The difference between iraq and vietnam is that people understand that our troops have been put in a no win situation. But some are using the same rhetoric from nam with regards to dissent & freedom of speech etc. It's just a shame history is repeating itself.

YES!!!!! EASY:
1. The Democrats were all for the Vietnam War.
But ended up wanting us to lose for political reasons, to gain them Money & Power.
2. The Democrats were all for the Iraq War, and voted to give Bush the go-ahead to invade.
But ended up wanting us to lose for political reasons, to gain them Money & Power.

Wow.....its like deja vu all over again....
Similarities....
1. The press failed to bolster our war efforts. Remember the press is made up of the dweebs who ate their own boogers in elementary school.
2. They're both in foreign countries that the average American knows nothing about and is incapable of logically understanding the danger they pose.
3. We let the Democrats talk us into scaling back and losing.
Differences...
1. Our population is even dumber now than then so the press and enemy find it easier to exploit us.
2. Democrats no longer even make the pretense of having a backbone. They are openly pro enemy and cowards.
3. Our country is no longer a homogeneous society dedicated to a brighter future for all. We have allowed many in our country to openly promote our loss in this endeavor; we allow terrorist, foreigners and dissenters to live amongst us and to openly plot our demise.

Christianity and Islam are the comparable roots with distinctive branches. A tree will in basic terms strengthen the comparable end result. Jesus got here for the very own those with Christianity. Muhammad got here for the full human race with Islam. So it relatively is erroneous for Christian to transform people into Christianity. Islam might nicely be preached to any races.
