I feed my boy nutro max & nutro natural choice. His skin & coat is very healthy. There is not alot of mess to clean up in the backyard either. I think it is a great kibble, never tried the can variety. For canned food I like dr foster smith homestyle meals..once a week. Yeah he is a happy spoiled puppy dog...

Nutro Naturals used to be a pretty good food! I used it myself for years. But a few years ago, they were sold to MARS Pet, and it's gone downhill ever since. Ingredients are now of lower quality than they used to be, numerous recalls, and overpriced for what it is these days. So at this point, Nutro is an 'average' food with a 'premium' price tag. The bag I used to buy 2 yrs ago for $32 is now $52 and the ingredients are worse, have recalls, etc. They were a great food and it's been sad to watch their decline. With a pit/Lab mix, your dog needs to be on puppy food for another 6-8 months or so. It's critical to his growing joints! I'd look at Canidae ALS, Merrick, Wellness, Blue Buffalo, etc. Better quality for what you are paying now. They all have puppy formulas except the Canidae ALS, which can be used safely with pups. In the past, I might have recommended Innova/California Naturals, but they were also just sold so the food will change. Better to find one that you can stick with.

We switched to Nutro and noticed a HUGE difference in our dogs' coats. They were much shinier, softer, and healthier. A friend came over and said, "Wow, did you just take the dogs to the groomer? Their coats look wonderful!" We said, "No, we just switched to a much better dog food!"

In addition, Nutro has no fillers, which means the food is all digestable. This is turn means that there's less poop to pick up! When we switched to Nutro, we noticed we had about 50% less poop to pick up!

I love it. I think it makes a HUGE difference in a dog's appearance. They look VERY healthy, and all the dogs that i have met who are on nutro do VERY well. My friend's dog is a dock jumping dog. She says that Nutro helps him look good, but also provides him with the energy he needs to go to jumping competitions. He is the number one dock jumping dog in his area.

I haven't found anyone who had a bad experience with this brand. The guys at my local feed store highly recommended it because of the high quality ingredients (and no fillers!), and it's clinically proven to improve skin conditions commons to small breeds. My pit bull's dry skin is gone and his coat is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

If you love your dogs, Nutro is the way to go!

I use Nutro Natural Adult and am very happy with it. I've used other excellent foods but my kennel seems to do well with it. Their coats are beautiful and skin isn't dry. My dogs do performance and conformation, so they have to look good. What works well on one dog may not necessarly work well on another. Cheers Bogey
