NJ or PA State Troopers?

Is anyone reading this who is a trooper in the states of NJ or PA and could advise me on the best way to go about getting hired, I know appling is the first step, but I'm looking more towards how to make myself a more attractive canidate\.

Education is the key, Get a degree of some kind, Criminal justice would be best, but any would do. It separates you from the crowd of applications. Next get into some type of support role. A Sheriff or local auxiliary would do nicely for a resume. My next suggestion would be to get as physically fit as possible. Get where you can run 2 miles in about 16 - 20 Min's.
