like if you had a warrant how many years does it stay

I think it depends on the crime. But I'm probably wrong.

There are two different questions here. If a warrant has been issued, in the vast majority of cases that means that the statute of limitations has been satisified, and will not ever bar the prosecution. The warrant could be outstanding forever.


As far as the statute of limitations, there is no way of telling what it is without knowing the offense. Most misdemeanors have a 1 year statute of limitations. Most felonies have a 3-year statute. Many serious felonies have an 8-year statute. Murder and some other offenses have none.

AND when the statute starts to run is different in many cases. Fraud commences upon discovery of the fraud. Some sex offenses start upon the report.

Bottom line: the statute is probably no longer running, but if it is there is not enough information to tell how long the period may be.

7 years unless it is murder then there is no limitation on it
