I think 21 is perfect. Any younger and it could be taken overboard, any older then when people get the freedom they will push their limits and not have the young body capable of handling the abuse.
21 is the best time to learn from mistakes.

I believe 21 is a good age. Even though many kids start drinking at a much younger age, most of the time it will be at their house, or a friends where they will be staying the night. After a few years of experimenting they become more familiar with the effects of alcohol, and then might be ready for the bar scene. By the age of 21 most people have matured enough to handle going to public places to drink, and will be more apt to make better choices when dealing with alcohol, like how to act in public, and how to get home.

I don't think there should be an age limit, doesn't that make it all the more inviting for children to try it out because it's elicit. I share the Mediterranean stance that children should have respect for it but not be banned from drinking it. After all it is just a drink . I live in Portugal - one of the driest countries in Europe for young people drinking. They go out, have fun and don't necessarily drink. You mainly find them sipping coffee on an evening out, even though they are legally allowed to drink alcohol from 16. I think there's a lesson to be learnt there somewhere.

at age 21 just like its always been and always should be. even then, 21 yr olds arent always responsible drinkers. when one learns what one's limit is and doesnt exceed that limit, does one become a responsible drinker and can enjoy the effects of alcohol without all the negative side effects.

I don't believe the government should have any involvement in this. IOW legal at all ages. In the case of minors it should be up to the parents.

i think instead of just a set age is legal, i think a limit of alchohol is legal to be taken at a certain age is right

the only people who think it should be lower than 21 are people who are under 21...and honestly, when i was 18, i didn't know a damn thing about life. i thought i did, and so do you probably...but you don't.
