As men, what would you feel/think about .having your best female friend of years frequently stroke and massage your head and feet, despite the fact you have a girlfriend. Would you ask your female friend to do this for you and feel nothing wrong with it?
How would you feel if your girlfriend often stroked and massaged parts of her male friend's body? Would it make you angry?
At the same time as letting your best friend stroke you, would you ever tell her consistently that you want to marry her (when drunk) and that you love her (when sober) and that you would consider breaking up with your girlfriend to go travelling with her, if there was absolutely nothing but platonic feelings? Is it possible for all these things to amount only to friendship? Do you think that would amount to being unfair to your girlfriend?

I have to be honest with you, I'd have no problem with it happening to me but if my gf did it to someone, I might get angry depending on the body part she's massaging.

It's socially inappropriate for a friend, male or female, to be frequently stroking and massaging a guy. And of course, friends do not tell friends that they want to marry them and love them. That is weird. Obviously there are feelings between the man and woman. Hopefully you are not the girlfriend in this story.

Uhhh...I think you answered your own questions via rhetoric. Of course in this situation its definitely more than just friends. Never use the word stroke or massage with a man...Man is man, and when man gets massaged he gets excited...anyway, this crosses the boundries of a plutonic relationship in my opinion. If a guy lets you continue doing that he is trying to get the best of both worlds... don't trust him.

I think things sound like they are getting out of hand. If you only have platonic feelings for someone you do NOT say thinks like wanting to marry her, love her etc. I'd not like it if my girlfriend acted in this way and would imagine a girlfriend would be very annoyed if I acted like this towards someone else.

First of all, that is not a platonic relationship and he is cheating on his girlfriend. Does his girlfiend know. He needs to be a man and decide who he wants, he's trying to have both. Stop rubbing his head, it will only confuse you and him. If you stop and he comes back then he's even more interested in you and should dump his girlfriend.

I have to agree with most folks here that it is definitely inappropriate. Not as inappropriate because it's not a marriage relationship but - remember the line from Pulp Fiction about foot massages - you both know it means something but you can pretend it doesn't.

I think a female best friend who's that intimate wants more. It's terribly unfair to the girlfriend.

i don't want any other woman touching me and i would be extremely upset of set if she let some other guy touch her. well, apart from a massage therapist. it seems to me that if your b/f or g/f tell this other person that want to marry them and that they love them while being drunk, ... well lets just say i hope they are happy together because i would not waste any time on them at all.

I think rubbing/stroking someone is conditional of their status. A single person should be able to get rubbed/stroked by any other single person. Taken persons should only be getting rubbed/stroked by the person in their lives whos job it is to do so.

Sounds like your having/had a problem with this. I see it as a problem, but you need to tell your boyfriend that your uncomfortable with the situation or else he will never know he's doing anything wrong.
