So are the ear drops for an infection? Is that what was diagnosed? If the infection doesn't get cleared up, your dog can face a chronically inflamed ear drum, resulting in hearing loss. That medication MUST be administered for his health. If you have to, put a muzzle on that dog and get the meds in.

Also, many dogs suffer ear infections as a result of food allergies. Find a food with no BHA, BHT or ethoxyquin preservative. No by-products, corn, soybean and wheat. Human grade food only. No fillers, artificial colors or flavors. A protein source that is not common(like elk, ostrich, venison, etc.). Yes, it costs more, but your dog will eat less (no fillers) and will be healthier with a wonderful coat, skin and ears (saving you money because you won't need the vet as much!).

If he's not getting the ear drops then they can't work. Get the vet to demonstrate how to do it, and muzzle him if you have to; but unless you get the drops in his ear the infection can spread to his inner ear.

a good opportunity for you to teach him how to be examined without the temper tantrums! he must learn to sit and be good. It is not natural, as puppies like to fidget and hate being examined and nails and ears fiddled with, but they should learn to tolerate it. Especially by you- you should be able to do anything! Once the infection is gone, Methylated spirit is the only thing I use to clean my spaniels ears. it evaporates, unlike water based substances, which just sit in the ears and cause further problems.

feels like ringworm to me too. Is it on the interior or the exterior portion of the ear flap. you should use what the call "blue coat" on him and could shop it from spreading yet you may shop it on for all time. There are additionally shampoos available that would help manage it too. look on the cyber web and notice what you will hit upon. Fosters and Smith might desire to have it or KV VET may additionally carry something. i've got faith there might desire to additionally be a vaccine for it out on the industry. i might nonetheless have him regarded at incase i'm incorrect, might additionally be dry epidermis. Is it scaly or flaky? in case you don't get it taken care of, it could worsen and you may relatively seize it. Spores from the positioning of the ring malicious application can get directly to different issues like furnishings, partitions, clothing and epidermis. i might touch your vet in the morning and get his/her enter on it. wish this helps.

dog nearly takes fingers off?
time to get a new dog?

let's see, sounds like inner ear infection........might need anti-biotics...btw you can get them at your local pet store sometimes....also, seriously, will your dog take a Motrin or Advil in his dog food? if his ear drum is inflamed, this might help the inflammation and pain, without having to jockey his ears around.. good luck, I think he needs to have warm oil put in his ears or something for the infection.....try the ibuprofen..
