Actually this can be good and bad. Are you currently listed as an operator on your parents policy? If not, when you eventually go to get insurance the company will ask if you have existing insurance or are listed on your parents policy and if no then you will be written into a sub-standard policy for not having prior insurance.

Not driving CAN affect your insurance premiums, but for the better! As part of signing up with an insurance company they ask you how many miles a year you put on the car.

If you have a car, and it's financed however... you may HAVE TO HAVE insurance.

The person above this entry covered the details..

If your car is financed, you will have to keep the damage insurance on it to protect the finance company interest. Your insurance agent can do that. Your costs should drop by at least 60% depending upon what kind of car you have.
