he's a cute dog... but he does look like a mix with those restricted breeds in him.... you might ask one of the people from the apartment place, to approve him for you. if they say no, then no. I understand the waiting for so long to get your own dog.... trust me, we've all been there,,, but it's not worth it to rescue him, and then have to give him back to the shelter again when you can't have him in your complex. Send the link that you posted to your complex manager and ask if you can adopt that dog.
Good luck!!

Yes, definitely can tell this is a bull terrier mix. Be sure you train this dog well. Always look for aggressive behavior and address it. Pit Bulls are fantastic dogs but a mixed dog? or a dog that you don't know his full blood line can be costly and dangerous, to you and others. Have you also assessed your lifestyle, do you have the time necessary to devote to a dog, an apartment is not a good place for any pit bull or bull terrier mix. They are very active dogs. Another note:its a shame that you accepted living in a apartment complex that discriminates. We should all strive to boycott discrimination of any kind. Finally DON'T LIE...always tell the truth, it gets you so much farther with less hassles

How the jaw is built (the middle pic i think) reminds me of a pit bull but otherwise he looks pretty ok....considering the list though I'm surprised ridgebacks aren't on it, around here the rep is close to that of akita/mastif/chow group. But no he really doesn't look scary unless you're just plain afraid of dogs in general. As a lot of breeds went in to making the pit bull breed, many mixes look similar to one, though in this case could get away with calling him a rhodesian mix or maybe rhodesian/lab mix as he looks similar to this as well.

She became into extra the superb option than you think of. The Toy FoxTerrier became into created via breeding the sleek Fox Terrier with Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinscher and Italian Greyhounds. of direction after putting a number of those breeds in the aggregate, the preliminary breeders saved at it long sufficient to 'fix type' and thereby created a sparkling breed, something the hybrid individuals are no longer doing. yet nonetheless, look at any purebred and in case you look lower back some distance sufficient you will discover mutts. simply by fact breeds originate from blending different breeds or severe selective breeding interior of a parent breed you will continually have circumstances the place to the untrained eye breed X would be incorrect for breed Y. and each so often it relatively is appropriate to the knowledgeable eye as nicely. Who via sight on my own can tell the version between a Toy Manchester Terrier and a Miniature Pinscher? Even expert canines judges war with this! (incredibly with examples that don't conform nicely to reproduce standards)

This dog does not look like a pit bull and I wouldnt think so if you mentioned rhodesian ridgeback mix. I dont think you will have a problem because he isnt a pit bull nor does he look like one. Just say he is a rhodesian ridgeback but dont say he is mixed with stafforshire bull terrier. Besides its just a guess anyway.

I really don't see Rhodesian. Definitly looks like an Am Staff mix or Pit mix to me. You MIGHT be able to pass it off as a Lab mix, but if your landlord (or another tenant) knows anything about dogs, he/she will be able to tell. Plus, if you are required to show any kind of paperwork from the shelter/rescue, and it says Am Staff mix on there you are in trouble.
I would be honest with your landlord, before you even get the dog. I know when I was looking for an apt, a landlady asked me what kind of dog I had. I told her it was a Lab mix of some sort. She wanted to know what it was mixed with, I told her I didn't know, I got the dog from the SPCA (I lied..the dog was a Rott/Dobe mix) She told me that if she was to find out that my dog was a purebred or mix of any of the "dangerous breeds" that she would have the dog removed from her property and I would be evicted on the spot.
I don't agree with this list at all, but I know some insurance companies will not cover home owners if they own one of those breeds. So, at the risk of having the dog taken away (not even sure if that is legal for them to do..but since it is their property, I would imagine it is) and you being kicked out on the streets...I would rethink getting that dog, or at least wait and move to an apt that allows all dogs.

Yeah that mix breed might getcha in a little trouble...better stick with the rules of the apt. complex too. Also, If possible see if the dog can stay with a friend or relative until you maybe get a house (didn't know if you were planning on getting one) to avoid and further friction with the management. Otherwise it may be a good idea to get with the manager of the complex, and suggest to get him tested for CGC (Canine Good Citizens Testing) I posted a link below...especially since he isn't full blooded pit bull, but is some cause for concern with others. I do think body wise its the ears, and that "terrier look" that throws people for a loop, you know what I mean? I myself currently own two pure bread Rhodesians, and before them I had a Vizsla Mix from petfinder. I congradulate you for finding and rescuing a friend it truly is a wonderfully challenging journey you are taking. Its like you are starting completely over with this dog, except he isn't a puppy. Right? Wasn't sure... WelI, had her (the vizsla mix) in an apt. for a while, and boy was she hyper! She was just barely over the weight limit for me to have her, but I was in the process of looking for a house so I got to keep her there. I soon moved to a house, but I do have a small backyard (not that small but apparently to small for her hyperness), and she also fought with my Female Rhodesian too much. Ah, the reason some dogs are called Bitches, lol! And after she went to a new home, I got a Male Rhodesian. Expensive dogs, but well worth it, they are so laid back in their nature, protecttive, and smart too. She (the vizsla mix) was a wonderful companion and great best friend, but she also had that particular body type witht the small feet, and short legs, with a deep chest that shouted "pit bull", and she lunged and charged at small dogs, squirrels, and especially cats! Once she smelled and caught sight of them, and she was off leash, it was very hard to get her back. And she would darn near yank your arm off to try and go for them. She had a beautiful red coat, and liver\brown nose which people say that those colors are more aggressive...Of course to me thats just doggie profiling with red heads...The Vizsla Mix now lives with my sister in law's bfs sister. So she is still in the family. She was recently put up on petfinder.com (look for the name Ursula if you want to see a pic),but she had way too many dominance issues, is food\bone, and toy aggressive\protective with other dogs and unknowing people and wasn't going to be for just any dog owner as she is tough, and will try and see just how far she could go. But now I think she is finally in a forever home. I hope I didn't bore you with my insight, and I was able to help you...I also posted the link to Ursula, as apparently she is still on petfinder, even though she isn't up for adoption anymore.

Hey man, I am in the same predicament.. I want to get a South African Boerbol pup, but the apartment I am in forbids it...
I would say that dog looks yellow lab, staffordshire bull less, but definitely could pass for lab.
Here is what you should do, I am assuming since you are young, that you do not have renter's insurance, or home owners insurance of any kind yet, so its just a question of getting it by the landlord...I say lie, tell him/her it's lab mix, not pit bull mix.... what he doesnt know wont hurt him right?!
Or, if he needs to see documentation, I guess youre screwed, or you could go all shady and change the copy of the paper that he will get to say lab mix instead of pit...
Nice looking dog tho man, and I hope it works out for ya... I have been waiting 24years to get my big dog... so I hear ya on this issue!

Yes I would think Pit Bull mix, not sure about the ridgeback part as I can't see the back of him. If he is half ridgeback then his back would have the tell tale dark stripe down the center of his back.
