My boyfriend broke up with me, after a 2 1/2 year relationship, on Sunday night, stayed the night, then left Monday morning with his stuff. He said that he was unhappy but scared he'd never find someone that will love him as much as I love him, and said he'll always love me. He said that he doesn't think I can make him happy, but I know I can since I've been so busy caught up with college and work, I haven't set a lot of time aside, and know I can make him happy if I set "us" time aside. I'm confused because I never knew he was unhappy, it was just an all of a sudden thing. We've talked on the phone since then, and I asked him if he would just think about it, he said that he just needs some time. What are the chances of us getting back together? I'm hurting so bad inside because I need him back in my life!

Ok I know that LOVE is a great thing. And I also know that when you love someone and something happens it hurts. You just need to pull yourself together and focus on the future. If it is meant to be he will be back. If he loves you like he says.. Just give it some time. Time is everything.Take care and Good Luck

Break-ups can be tough!! Especially if you don't see it coming! Hang in there! A little advice if I may - If you can, get this book a.s.a.p. "Love Must Be Tough" by Dr. James Dobson. It will help you navigate through these emotional rapids! Don't call him. Let him reconnect. If he does, act very secure even though you don't feel like it. It will enhance your chances of getting back together. Get emotional support from family and friends. And remember, it's not your job to make him "happy." I've been there! Done that! Got the T-shirt!! Good luck! I know it's so tough!

You are not responsible for his happiness. If he (or anyone else) is not happy with himself, there is nothing you can do. This is really lame excuse you got. You said you've been working and going to college, you ware bettering yourself and that is exactly what you should be doing. If your boyfriend felt as a fifth wheel, then he should have said something. This is a very selfish approach he took. Best wishes.

It is not your job to keep him happy. He has to be happy himself. Do not let him back in your life its going to get worse. Or do you want to be with someone that you do not make happy, Get on with your life. Let him go.
