There are campgrounds designated just for families that want to get away from the rowdy crowds. They have set curfews and rules about noise and drunkness.
Stay away from the infield area, that is where most of the " non-family" type things happen.

I go to Dega twice a year and always take my son with me. He is 13 now and have been going for the last five years. Dega does get rowdy, no doubt. We just ignore some of what we see and laugh at or enjoy the rest.
If you and your family are COMPLETELY AGAINST: DRINKING, CURSING, BADMOUTHING OTHERS, AND OTHER INSANE BEHAVIOR, DON'T TAKE THE KIDS !!
But if you can see some of this and shake it off, don't worry about it, just go and have a good time. I have seen as bad or worse at state and county fairs, the beach, and so on.
Dega does have a new family friendly campground....go to
www.talladegasuperspeedway.com for info. I have not in five years not seen or been around anything there that we could not handle. I would maybe just not take them into the infield.

Talladega is a great track and you guys will have a lot of fun. It is always an awesome race.
But yeah, the fans there can get rowdy. Talladega is always full of Dale Jr fans, and they are the worst (not all of them, just most). They are drunken, rowdy, and obnoxious. They are the ones that you see throwing beer cans at drivers, which has happened the past two years at Talladega.

I've gone to Talladega for 5yrs. and it gets pertty roudy. but if you stay in the family campgrounds you should be fine...but if you want to really see what Talladega is all about leave the kids behind and take them to Daytona.. Talladega is the best race for true roudy nacsar fans.....I've been to both Talladega and Daytona ....

There is a family camp ground and a party campground. If you are camping go to the family campgroup. The other one is not for the family unless you want your kids seeing boops.....but it's fun. I've been to the april race and will be going this year too. I think it's great to take kids too.....if you aren't partying and getting drunk.

I've been there, it is a bit much for small children but not much worse than any other track. It depends on how old your children are, I wouldn't have wanted mine there when they were toddlers.

I've never been, so I'm not sure how to answer that, but do you have room for one more? :) Have fun! I think it's a great idea if your kids aren't too young.
