I want to have this big beautfuil princess wedding but me and my soon to be husband cant save for this magical wedding and try to get an apartment at the same time. My family and friends are giving me a hard time. They dont understand that after the wedding we will move in together. I am just putting money aside for this big *** wedding. Yes I love him but we cant do both things at the same time.

If that is your opinion, I think that I would question your priorities. You're basically implying to people that the wedding is more important than the marriage. That is probably why some people are giving you a hard time.

Generally, a couple would save up enough money to do both. If you can't afford to live on your own after the wedding, are you sure that you're really ready to be married and out on your own? Or, should you scale back a bit on the wedding (which really only lasts one very, very short day), in order to be able to enjoy your marriage right away? Your phrase "Yes I love him but we cant do both things at the same time" really screams to me "Yes I love him, but the wedding is more important." Are you sure you really want to marry this guy? Or do you just want to throw a big party?

A lot of people dont have the money to do both. Unless you want to go into huge debt! You are doing it the right way. Lots of people pick the house before getting married. But either way its fine, you still spend a lot of time with one another. Just start saving up later...the house will come sooner or later. Get the wedding over with first, than go from there.

Do it the way you would like it to be if they don't understand your point there's no sense in banging your head against the wall.....you only get one chance to have a first time wedding the way you want it so go for it, congratulations
