Yes it is unnecessary & most likely an elective surgery & won't be covered by insurance. Is the child obese, or have a low metabolism? It would be far better the child is on a diet & getting exercise. Now if there is a medical reason I don't think U would even be posting this. With all that in mind & the more i think about it, YES it is very unnecassery & the wrong thing 2 do. Hope this gives U something 2 think about.

YES unless it is preformed on a child who has a legitimate physical dysfunction where weight gain cannot be helped.
